This chilling tale is the story of the SS Neptune, a merchant ship usually tasked with transporting coal from the North East to London. These sailors grow up to do the same journey across the sea, again, again, until they are weathered and retired. But this journey is unlike the others. It is not coal they are laboured with transporting, but a woman.

This story was part of the winning entries of the short story compeition in conjuction with The Paper Moon, Guildford, and is published in the Guildford Dragon Newspaper.
